The race for Tennis History at the US Open is incredibly tight, both in the ATP era and when you include the Open Era, period starting from 1968.
Novak Djokovic leads the pack, followed closely by Roger Federer and Pete Sampras. Though Djokovic tops the current standings, Federer and Sampras still outshine him in terms of titles, each holding five compared to Novak's four—though the Serbian star is still in the hunt to equal them. Rafael Nadal, also with four titles, is next in line, but the Spaniard has announced he won’t be competing in this edition.
If we look back to the earlier era, Jimmy Connors, with his five titles, would take the lead if we were to include the historical data from that period.

On the women's side, Serena Williams dominates the ATP Era ranking with six titles, holding significant points lead over her closest competitors, Venus Williams and Steffi Graf, with two and three titles, respectively.
But stepping back into the Open Era, Chris Evert also claims six titles and would sit at the top. The names of some of the greatest in tennis history also come into play: Martina Navratilova with four wins, Margaret Court with five, and Billie Jean King with four. Steffi Graf, who would add two more titles when including the years 1968 to 1989, would edge ahead of the elder Williams sister.
