José María Mazón Ramos, idea’s father of the classification system, is the author of the homogenization of tournaments and their punctuation. He is currently a collaborator with his participation in audiovisual publications.
Civil engineer and a Spanish politician belonging to the Regionalist Party of Cantabria (PRC).
He´s been deputy of the Spanish Congress of Deputies during the 13th and 14th Legislatures (2019-2023).
Civil Servant belonging to State Civil Administrators and to the Superior Corps of Information Systems and Technologies of the State Administration (ICT).
Between 1988 and 1994 he was professor in charge of Biostatistics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cantabria, and associate professor of Calculus I and II at the Faculty of Civil Engineers of Cantabria, between 1994 and 1996.
Political career:
In the Government of Cantabria, he served as General Director of General Services (1990-1991), General Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Urban Planning (1995-1999), General Director of Roads (1995- 2003), Minister of Public Works and Housing (2003-2007/2015-2019) and Minister of Public Works, Territorial Planning, Housing and Urban Planning (2007-2011).
Between 2003 and 2019 he was a parliamentarian in the Parliament of Cantabria.
In the General Elections of April 2019, he was elected deputy to the Spanish Cortes for the Congress, being the first national deputy that the PRC got in its history.
After the electoral repetition in November, he revalidated his seat, improving his results from 14.6% to 21.2%.
In 2023 the PRC resigned from going to the General Elections.
