The ATP tournaments of the week: Doha, Rio de Janeiro and Los Cabos
The South American clay tour ends prior to Indian Wells and Miami Master 1000 in March.
Federer (3 titles) leads The Tennis Race for History in Doha (ATP 250). Only two participants could challenge him for the lead: Andy Murray reaching the final and Gael Monfils if he is proclaimed champion.
In the young Los Cabos tournament (ATP 250), in Mexico, no one has repeated the title, 7 years, 7 champions, and only Cameron Norrie has reached two finals. Previous champions, the Argentine Diego Swartzman and the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas aspire to repeat the trophy (with the permission of the favorite, the German Alexander Zverev).
The same thing happens in Rio de Janeiro (ATP 500), with no one being champion twice. It´ll be a close competition, in which the current No. 2 and current runner-up will be tested (Carlos Alcaraz lost the 2023 final against the British Cameron Norrie).
In addition to Norrie and Alcaraz, the Serbian Laslo Djere and the Chilean Christian Garín will fight to repeat trophy.
