Best tennis players on carpet
Carpet tennis matches have been important in professional tennis, although their presence and popularity have declined over the years. In the past, carpet was a common surface on the professional circuit, especially for indoor tournaments. Large events such as the Paris Masters and several ATP tournaments in Europe and North America took place on this type of surface. However, as we moved into the 21st century, the carpet on the circuit began to shrink. The ATP and ITF made efforts to reduce the number of surfaces to make the circuit simpler.
Nowadays, carpet tournaments are a rare species, but they are still found in some lower level events and exhibition matches, in addition, they are preferred by some clubs and training centers for their easy maintenance and strength. Topping our rankings are Boris Becker and Pete Sampras, neck and neck, and Goran Ivanišević is not far behind. Goran may not be the first name popping up these days, but he definitely deserves recognition. Known for his excellent serve and aggressive play, the fast carpet conditions were ideal for him, allowing him to rule the court with his serve and volley game.
Although he did not win a Grand Slam on carpet (none of the Slams are played on it, but he did win Wimbledon), his victories in ATP tournaments and his performances in indoor matches really demonstrated his skills and adaptability.
