The Serbian can win the Invincible TRH 2023 title and join Connors, Borg, Lendl and Federer as a triple winner.
With his 54th victory in the 60 matches played this year, Djokovic reaches 90% of victories.
We have already explained in previous posts that in the Tennis Race for History we award the title of Invincible TRH (Tennis Race for History) to the player who achieves at least 90% of victories over matches played in a year with a minimum of 50.
In the Open era, there are only a few who have achieved it. Nole fulfilled his role in the final of the Nitto ATP Finals because a defeat would make his W-L record in 2023 be 53-7 and even by winning the remaining matches he has to play in the Davis Cup he could not achieve this goal. This is his last obstacle to achieve it.
In this way he would join the club of those who have achieved it three times. Only Bjorn Borg, Iván Lendl and Roger Federer would surpass him with four Invincible years. The three of them, along with Jimmy Connors, achieved it for three years in a row, but the players who achieved it were with a greater difference in years, are Roger Federer, 13 years between first and second and now Djokovic, 12 years.
